How to buy Age of Empires 2: Dynasties of India
On Thursday, the developers of Age of Empire 2: Definitive Edition announced the upcoming Dynasties of India expansion official site. It will be released on Microsoft store and further steam. The three new civilizations coming with Dynasties of India are the Bengalis, the Dravidians, and the Gurjaras. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will also get three new fully voiced campaigns for Babur, Devapala and Rajendra.
Age of Empires 2: Dynasties of India – Bengal
The new Bengali civilization will feature a unique unit called the Ratha (Hindi for chariot) that features both melee and ranged attack modes. This civilization focuses on elephant and naval units, and researching their unique Paiks technology will help improve elephant units and rathas. Bengali ships can also regenerate 15 hit points (HP) per minute, and town centers will spawn two new villagers when advancing to the next age. Mahayana technology will also reduce a villager’s footprint and allow for a larger economy.
Age of Empires 2: Dynasties of India – Dravidians
On the other hand, the Dravidian civilization will allow players to build a sea empire. You can count on special forces like the Thirisadai, a sea-control ship, and the infantry unit Urumi Swordsman with a flexible, devastating sword. Wootz Steel technology focuses on infantry and naval units, letting units ignore enemy units’ armor. Docks of this civ and its allies will have more space for the population. Advancement to the next age grants 200 additional wood, and researching Medical Corps technology allows elephant units to regenerate 20 HP per minute.
Age of Empires 2: Dynasties of India – Gurjaras
Unlike the Bengalis and the Dravidians, the Gurjaras civilization focuses on cavalry and camelry. It features two unique units: the Shrivamsha Rider, a cavalry unit that can dodge enemy attacks, and the Chakram Thrower, an infantry unit that throws metal discs. Instead of a scout cavalry unit, Gurjaras start with a camel scout and can research Frontier Guards technology for additional melee armor for all Gurjara camels. This civilization will allow players to station livestock in mills for an infinite (but slow) supply of food. Fishing ships can also be stationed in Gurjara docks during an attack, while researching Kshatriya technology reduces food costs by 25 percent for all military units.
Indian civilization is now Hindustani
Players who do not purchase the Dynasties of India expansion can still access the Hindustani civilization (formerly known as the Indians) with the heavily armored Ghulam infantry unit and the Imperial Camel Rider, the two Hindustani special forces in the game. Focused on gunpowder and camelery units, this civ can research Shatagni technology to increase the range of hand gunners. Villagers will be cheaper to produce than other civs, and exploring the Grand Trunk Road will increase gold earnings from all sources. A special building called the Caravanserai also helps regenerate HP of all nearby trade units.
Age of Empires 2: Dynasties of India new campaigns
The upcoming Dynasties of India expansion will also add three new fully voiced campaigns. In the first campaign, users can play as Tatars and Hindustani and follow the story of Zahir ud-Din Muhammad, also known as Babur, who tries to restore his crumbling empire. The next campaign is playable as a Dravidian civilization and involves playing as Rajendra Chola working to expand his ancestral empire in the South while fighting corruption. The third campaign can be played as Bengalis, with the story of Devapala facing off against rivals for his throne.
The Dynasties of India expansion pack from Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is coming to the Microsoft Store and Steam on April 28th. It costs Rs. 265 in India.
