FIFA 23: Rs. 5 India Pricing Glitch Sales Will Be Honored, Says EA

FIFA 23 buyers who managed to preorder the game for Rs. You can keep 4.80 in the Epic Games Store. A recent pricing glitch allowed Indian players to pre-order the Rs. 4,799 Ultimate Edition on PC for less than Rs. 5. EA Sports has now come forward and in turn has acknowledged the error and will honor all purchases made during the short period. FIFA 23 launches on September 30th across all major platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and Windows PC.

The bug was spotted last month, right after EA Sports unveiled the first official trailer for FIFA 23. The Indian edition of the Epic Games Store made a mistake by placing the decimal point in the wrong place and priced from Rs. 4,799.00 to Rs. 4.80. Early Birds managed to snag the deal and shared their excitement on social media, urging users around the world to change their region to India and pre-order it at a dirt cheap price. The error was not seen on any other platform or Steam.

The error was eventually corrected, and players feared that Epic Games would either negate the purchases or demand the balance. However, in a series of emails sent to those customers, EA Sports has apologized and assured them they can keep the copy. “A few weeks ago we scored a pretty spectacular own goal when we accidentally offered the wrong price for pre-purchase of FIFA 23 on the Epic Games Store,” reads the email EA Sports sent to players. “It was our fault and we wanted you to know that we will honor all pre-purchases at this price.”

Pre-ordering the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition will grant three-day early access to the game starting September 27 and offer a range of in-game rewards. Players will receive 4,600 FIFA Points to spend on their Ultimate Team, a FUT Ones to Watch player item, a Team of the Week 1 player and cover star Kylian Mbappé on a 5-match loan item.

FIFA 23 is equipped with the new HyperMotion2 technology, which gives a more realistic character to the game field in both the men’s and women’s World Cup modes and supports seamless crossplay on PC, Xbox and PlayStation systems. EA also released an Ultimate Team Deep Dive trailer detailing the new bite-sized FUT Moments mode, changes to the player chemistry system, and a FUT World Cup mode – details on which are sparse.

FIFA 23 will be released on September 30th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. As mentioned above, starting September 27th, purchasing the Ultimate Edition or subscribing to EA Play Pro will give you three-day early access. FIFA 23 Legacy Edition will be available for Nintendo Switch.
