Here’s a new look at God of War Ragnarök, as revealed by the companion controller

As the highly-anticipated God of War sequel draws ever closer, Sony Santa Monica has given us another look at Ragnarok.

To wrap up today’s State of Play, we were invited to “embark on an epic and undeterred journey as Kratos and Atreus struggle to hold on and let go” in a new story trailer. We can see the sluggish Tyr (the other god of war) in more detail in this new teaser, as well as swelling music and heart-pounding scenes – I mean of course.

You can check out this trailer for yourself below.

Will this be Tyr-something?

“Experience the changing dynamics of [Kratos and Atreus’] relationship as they prepare for war,” Sony wrote. “Atreus hungers for knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of ‘Loki’ while Kratos struggles to break free from the past and be the father his son needs. Meanwhile, the eyes of Asgard watch their every move…”

There will also be a new PS5 DualSense controller to accompany the game’s release. This controller was inspired by the Norse world of Midgard. It features a “cool blue on icy white two-tone design”. Meanwhile, a bear and a wolf, representing Kratos and Atreus respectively, adorn the touchpad.

grin and bear it.

God of War Ragnarök will be released on November 9th for PlayStation 4 and PS5.
