Where has the time gone? Can you believe Xbox Live first went live 20 years ago?

But yeah, it really was that long ago. On November 15, 2002, Xbox Live (now officially known as the Xbox Network) came into our lives, adding online capabilities to the original Xbox.

The service’s popularity rose steadily after the launch of Halo 2, and of course Microsoft hasn’t looked back since. As of January 2021, Microsoft said there were more than 100 million Xbox Network subscribers (this number includes those who signed up through the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription tier).
