Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said on Tuesday the company plans to accelerate its new ambitious projects such as electric cars, cell manufacturing and the Gigafactory and deepen the focus on technology and engineering. The company is doubling down on building the future in the country, Aggarwal said, while refuting reports he is stepping down from day-to-day operations at the company and giving CFO Arun GR an expanded role.
“Reads like I’m retiring! That’s not true. Arun is a great leader and he will help me oversee Ola’s operations. Said Aggarwal in a tweet.
He continued: “More soon. We are redoubling building the future here in India, at Ola!” In a separate statement, a company spokesman said, “As Ola is focused on advancing ambitious new projects such as car and cell manufacturing, gigafactories and the electrifying ride-hailing business , the company ensures it has an appropriate focus on execution excellence and holds corporate leadership high in new business.”
Previously, media reports had stated that Olas Group CFO Arun GR would be given an expanded role to drive day-to-day operations across the group.
