Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 were presented by Xiaomi on Thursday. The smartphones are the flagship models of the Redmi brand and, in addition to liquid cooling technology, feature top-of-the-line MediaTek SoCs, as well as a refresh rate of 120 Hz and Dolby Vision-enabled displays with 2K resolution. The price of the Redmi K50 Pro begins at 2,999 CNY (approx. Rs. 35,900) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, up to 3,299 (approx. Rs. 39,500) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, 3,599 CNY (approx. Rs. 43,100) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and finally , CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs. 47,900) for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

On the other hand, the price of the Redmi K50 begins at 2,399 CNY (approx. Rs. 28,700) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, 2,599 CNY (approx. Rs. 31,100) for the 8GB + 256 GB variant and finally 2,799 CNY (approx. Rs. 33,500) for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant. Both smartphones will be available in Dim Light, Fantasy, Ink Feather and Silver Traces color variants. Both Xiaomi devices are also available for pre-order and will be available in China from March 22nd.

Redmi K50 Pro specifications

The Dual SIM (Nano-SIM) Redmi K50 Pro runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 and features a 6.67-inch Samsung OLED 2K display (1440 x 3200 pixels) with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display is rated for a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits and offers DCI-P3 color space coverage, while there is Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. The smartphone is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimension 9000 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Redmi K50 Pro has a triple rear camera with a 100-megapixel 1/1.52-inch Samsung S5KHM2 primary sensor with OIS and 2.1-micron pixels, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens (119 -degree field -of-view) and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. A Sony IMX596 sensor with 20 megapixels is installed on the front.

The Redmi K50 Pro has up to 512 GB of built-in UFS 3.1 storage, which is not expandable via a microSD card. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, GPS, Beidu, Glonass and a USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, ambient color temperature sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, infrared blaster, and ultrasonic distance sensor.

It has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging that claims to charge to 100 per cent in just 19 minutes. The Redmi K50 Pro measures 163.1 x 76.15 x 8.48 mm and weighs 201 grams. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and the smartphone has Hi-Res Audio certification. The smartphone is also dust and waterproof according to IP53.

The Redmi K50 Pro has the same SIM, software and display specifications as the Redmi K50 Pro. The smartphone is powered by a 5nm MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Redmi K50 has up to 256 GB of built-in UFS 3.1 storage, which is not expandable via a microSD card. The connectivity options are identical to those of the Redmi K50 Pro, as are the sensors. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, ambient color temperature sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, infrared blaster, and ultrasonic distance sensor.

It has a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging that’s said to deliver up to an 80 per cent charge in just 30 minutes. Xiaomi has stated the same weight and dimensions for the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro. It also has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and the smartphone has Hi-Res Audio certification.
