The launch date of the Redmi Note 12 series has been officially confirmed by the Chinese smartphone brand. The Xiaomi sub-brand turned to Weibo to confirm that the Note 12 series will launch in China on October 27th. The line-up is said to include the vanilla Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro and the Note 12 Pro+. Redmi has also confirmed some of the specifications of the Note 12 series. The new phones will be the first devices to feature the recently announced MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC.
Redmi’s latest Note series will be officially announced on October 27 in China at 7:00 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. IST), according to the company Approved via a Weibo post. Aside from confirming the launch date, the company also released some specifications of the Redmi Note 12 Pro series through a series of posts on Weibo.
In the first post, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that there will be the Redmi Note 12 Pro series fitted with the recently introduced MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. The chipset is said to offer improved battery life and performance on the smartphones.
Next the company too uncovered that the Redmi Note 12 Pro range will use the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for its triple rear camera setup. This popular sensor offers optical image stabilization (OIS) and has a size of 1/1.56 inch, which allows it to capture a lot of light.
Finally also Redmi bullied the rear design of the Redmi Note 12 Pro series and also confirmed the color options. According to the Weibo post, the new smartphones will come in Shallow Dream Galaxy and Time Blue (translated) color options.
The upcoming Redmi Note 12 series of phones has been spotted on 3C and TENAA. According to a 3C list, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ offers 210W fast charging support while the Note 12 Pro maxes out at 120W. The standard variant will reportedly offer 67W fast charging support. Additionally, the TENAA listing suggests that the Note 12 Pro+ and Note 12 Pro will get a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The listing also revealed that the Note 12 Pro will get a 4,980mAh battery, while the Note 12 Pro+ packs a 4,300mAh cell. We’d have to wait a few more days to find out if these are true.
