Rocket League is getting a limited-time Knockout Bash Battle Royale mode starting April 27th

Rocket League dives into battle royale frenzy with its upcoming Knockout Bash. This limited-time event runs from April 27th to May 10th. There are no balls or goals in this mode, and for the first time Rocket League players have to play alone and without a team. Knockout Bash is a free battle royale mode pitting eight players against each other. This event also brings spring-related rewards and free golden gift baskets, which are unlocked by completing in-game challenges.

Rocket League developers Psyonix have designed three new arenas for Knockout Bash – Calavera, Carbon and Quadron. Players must also master new mechanics to gain an advantage in this mode. A well-timed dodge acts like an attack, crashing into other cars farther away. There will also be block and grab mechanics to help you achieve victory.

As already mentioned, eight players fight for victory in free-for-all action. In classic Battle Royale fashion, there will be a shrinking safe zone. Once players are knocked out of the safe zone, they have 10 seconds to return or lose a life. There will be other ways to KO players like throwing them into hazards for an instant KO. Each of the players has a total of three lives, after which they are permanently eliminated. The match transitions to Sudden KO after 6 minutes where every attack and throw is amplified to maximum power and exiting the safe zone would mean an instant KO.

The Knockout Bash will arrive with a series of new challenges that will reward players with spring-themed items such as the Florescence Wheels, Monarch Boost or the animated Flutterby sticker. Completing the challenge up to five times will award players with a golden gift basket containing a mix of classic reward items.
