The anti-grav racing sequel, Redout 2, is coming later this month

Redout 2, the sequel to 34BigThings’ blisteringly fast, beautifully stylish anti-grav racer, now has a release date and will be racing May 26th on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

Redout 2 builds on the acclaimed racing action of its 2016 predecessor and features 36 new tracks (each mirrored variants) to be experienced in the 12-player online races or the single-player career campaign – which means “hundreds” of Events promises a variety of different modes, including Arena Races, Time Attacks, Last Man Standing, and Boss Races.

Elsewhere, the extensive customization options of the original game return, with players now able to start with one of 12 different chassis and then build on it from a choice of rocket engines, drives, stabilizers, rudders, magnets, intercoolers, flaps, wings and spoilers.

In terms of the soundtrack, 34BigThings has enlisted help from the likes of Giorgio Moroder, Zardonic and Dance with the Dead, and it looks like there will be a few live service elements in Redout 2’s online mode, with the developer promising to “regularly add custom content and seasons with bonus aesthetic rewards.”

Redout 2 launches May 26th and will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
