The developers of Mutant Year Zero introduce the tactical RPG Miasma Chronicles, which will be released next year

Developer The Bearded Ladies, the studio behind Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, the acclaimed 2018 turn-based strategy adventure, has introduced Miasma Chronicles – a new tactical RPG coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 sometime next year will appear.

Miasma Chronicles unfolds in the United States, which sometime in the “not too distant future” will be torn apart by a force known only as Miasma. Here, in the mining town of Sedentary, we meet our protagonist Elvis, a young man who is raised by a robotic older “brother” after being abandoned by his mother.

For reasons unknown and extremely convenient to the gameplay, Elvis has access to a mysterious gauntlet that allows him to control Miasma – a device that will almost certainly come in handy as the brothers embark on a quest through the post-apocalyptic wasteland making answers that “could change the course of human history forever”.

Miasma Chronicles – Announcement Trailer.

Miasma Chronicles promises a combination of real-time exploration and turn-based tactical combat with RPG elements – including upgradeable weapons and abilities – but the developer isn’t saying much more than that at the moment. And its cinematic announcement trailer doesn’t give much away either.

Expect much more from Miasma Chronicles as the 2023 release draws closer to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
