The iPhone SE 3 and new iPad Air could be joined by a new external display at Apple’s March 8 launch event. Though Apple has been excited to see exactly what we might see at the upcoming “Peek Performance” event, new reports suggest that the Cupertino-based company may debut a new external display called the Apple Studio at the event. The iPhone SE 3, also known as iPhone SE (2022) or iPhone SE 5G, is also said to be available separately in different colors and with three different storage options.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter writes that the next generation external display could be a fourth “wildcard” to be unveiled at this week’s Apple event — alongside the iPhone SE 3, the new iPad Air, and at least one new Mac.
He says Apple completed work on the external display “months ago” but hasn’t made any public announcement yet. The device is slated to launch shortly after last year’s MacBook Pro debut.
At WWDC in June 2019, Apple introduced its last external display called Pro Display XDR.
The display, due to launch tomorrow, will be called Apple Studio Display, according to a report by 9to5Mac. It’s said to have 7K resolution and might include an A13 chip to handle some processing tasks natively.
So does market analyst at TF Internal Securities Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a credible track record of forecasting Apple product roadmaps speculated that Apple is preparing its new 27-inch external display, which will come without a mini-LED panel. The display is also dubbed an “affordable” option by the analyst – suggesting it could be more affordable than the 6K Pro Display XDR, which debuted in 2019 for $4,999 (around Rs. 3,84,400).
Kuo also predicts that Apple is working on releasing its new Mac mini this year, which we could see for ourselves at the upcoming event. The analyst also predicts that new Mac Pro and iMac Pro models will be ready for unveiling next year.
Gurman also believes the new Mac mini could debut at the Apple event this year.
The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models were also initially speculated for the event, although the new predictions suggest we may have to wait a little longer to see those upgrades. However, Gurman suggests that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro or iMac models could appear sometime in the first half of the year — maybe May or June.
Some people are expecting Apple to release an updated version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Just curious if Apple would be interested in updating an outdated form factor design product?

Apple could also preview its new Mac Pro or iMac Pro at this week’s event, Gurman said.
On the iPhone SE 3 side, Kuo forecast that the new model would be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options and would come in white, black and red colors. He also confirms some previous reports by saying that the new iPhone SE would feature a similar form factor design available on the current model.
He also predicts that Apple will begin mass production of the iPhone SE 3 in March and ship its 25-30 million units in 2022.
Previous reports suggested that the iPhone SE 3 would feature a faster A15 Bionic chip with 5G support and an improved camera experience.
Apple is also said to have its new iPad Air ready for launch, which could debut as the iPad Air (5th generation), with features like an A15 chip, optional 5G support, and Center Stage for FaceTime camera. It could also come in a similar design that we’ve seen in 2020.
The Apple event takes place on Tuesday, March 8th. Like the company’s recent launches, it will be an online-only event, live-streamed over the internet.
