This year, smartphone manufacturers have released some powerful smartphones in different price ranges. We expect fresh new designs from Xiaomi, Apple’s pinhole iPhone 14 series and an interesting foldable device from Oppo that will be launched in India. Here’s a selection of smartphones to buy this year without draining your wallet with HDFC Bank EasyEMI, which will help you manage every big purchase you make.
Apple iPhone 14 series
The Apple iPhone 14 series will be launched in September this year and will be equipped with an iOS 16 and Bionic A16 chipset. Leaked renders show the iPhone 14 will drop the notch and feature a punch-hole display. There are also rumors that all iPhone 14 models could have 120Hz LTPO displays and the Pro models could have 48MP primary cameras and 8GB of RAM. Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models could come with a harder titanium alloy case, which will increase the durability of the smartphone. It is expected to cost somewhere between ₹70,000 and ₹80,000.
Oppo Find N mobile was launched in China on December 15, 2021. It’s Oppo’s first foldable flagship smartphone with dual displays, but feels like a regular smartphone when folded. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, it runs Android 11 and packs a 4500mAh battery. The Find N’s crease is barely visible on the interior display, making it quite comfortable to use. Since the flagship phone supports Super VOOC fast charging, your battery will go from 0 to 100% in under an hour. Oppo Find N is expected to cost between £90,000 and £1,00,000.
Google Pixel 6a
We’re not sure about the launch date of the Pixel 6a, but it’s set to launch later this year. Many leaks have indicated that the Pixel 6a could be powered by the Google Tensor GS101 SoC found in the recently launched Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. It is also rumored that Google’s smartphone could also have features such as Magic Eraser, Google Assistant and voice typing. Google Pixel 6a is expected to cost between £40,000 and £45,000.
Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 series in China in December 2021 and we hope to see it in India this year. Xiaomi 12 features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a 120Hz AMOLED display and the latest MIUI 13 based on Android 12. A leaked image also teased the powerful camera setup that Xiaomi 12 will come with. It’s also expected to have 67W fast charging, according to a recent report. Xiaomi 12 will be the company’s next premium smartphone to skip the “Mi” branding. The Xiaomi 12 base variant could cost between £55,000 and £60,000.
