The handset is said to be a mid-range option and is now set to be tested in the European and Asian markets as software builds have been detected – and indicating a launch is imminent. Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G in the coming months.
A report by Xiaomiui claims that Xiaomi will expand its recently launched Xiaomi 12 line of smartphones. The rumored Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G is expected to be the cheapest offering in this lineup. As already mentioned, the development of this smartphone is said to be already underway.
The report claims that the Xiaomi 12 Lite is currently being tested in the European and Asian markets and points to two detected software versions: V184.108.40.206.SLIMIXM and V220.127.116.11.SLIEUXM. Previously, the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G was allegedly spotted in the IMEI database with the codename “taoyao” and the model number 2203129G. The handset is expected to borrow some specs from the base Xiaomi 12 and a 3D edge design like the Xiaomi Civi.
